006 - Truck Tingsss
Thought I needed a step-stool before, now I really gotta climb in
PROJECT

Its been a minute since my last post. I've done done so much these past few weeks I just haven't had time to type it up. Been traveling, been working, been tired, but most of all been blessed.. why? Because the biggest upgrade on my truck is finally here! My truck can now confidently do truck tingsss more reliably because I finally bit the bullet and upgraded it's suspension. The best part is that I installed it all by myself. Much proud.
YouTube is a beautiful thing isn't it? Pretty much (according to YouTube) all I had to do is lift the truck, remove the tires, unscrew 3 post on the top of the strut, 1 big bolt on the bottom and replace with the new shock and spring assembly. As you can see, it was definitely about time; The poor trucks been on its stock suspension this whole time!! that's 22 years! Poor baby, it's okay, we'll keep throwing money at all your problems.
As for the rear of the truck, almost the same deal, just unscrew a bolt at the top and 1 at the bottom, replace shocks + bushings. Then do the other side. The original shocks were so bad I could compress them by hand, that's no bueno. The work took all about 3 hours and some coffee because it was too early for beers. After my labor, I took it to get an alignment since the front was lifted about 1 1/2 inches and that was pretty much it! High Five!!

The truck rides stiffer now (as a truck should) and corrects quickly when going over bumps. While turning, it stays level and best of all, I can finally drive it off a cliff and I know i'll be just fine. I went back this past week for some new tires to really put the whole thing together and much wow! Now shes ready to go to the moon and back.
